The AGR valve (exhaust gas recirculation valve) is part of the exhaust system and is located in the immediate vicinity of the engine block, directly at the base of the exhaust manifold. The AGR valve is also often referred to as the AGR valve. AGR is simply an abbreviation of the English name: Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
The exhaust gas recirculation valve (AGR valve) is a component in an internal combustion engine that serves to direct part of the exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber. This is to reduce pollutant emissions and improve combustion efficiency.
The AGR valve regulates the proportion of exhaust gases recirculated depending on the operating status of the engine. It can be controlled electronically and works in conjunction with the engine control unit.
A defective AGR valve can lead to loss of power, increased fuel consumption and increased emissions. It should therefore be checked regularly and replaced if necessary.
