Turbocharger

A turbocharger is a component used in internal combustion engines to increase the engine's performance and efficiency. The turbocharger consists of a turbine, which is driven by the engine's exhaust gases, and a compressor wheel, which sucks in air, compresses it and feeds it into the engine.

By compressing the air, more oxygen is delivered into the combustion chamber, resulting in better combustion and greater engine performance. This effect is called "turbo lag" because there can be a short delay between accelerator pedal application and power increase as the turbocharger revs up.

A defective turbocharger can lead to, among other things, loss of power, increased fuel consumption and smoke. Signs of a faulty turbocharger include an unusual whistling or hissing sound, loss of power, and increased smoke from the exhaust.

It is important to maintain the turbocharger regularly and replace it if necessary to maintain the performance and efficiency of the engine.
